Scoopdown does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.
Last updated: 2026-10-12 (version 1.1.0).
It has no analytics, no tracking, no accounts and no servers. Everything it does happens in your browser, and what it makes (Markdown, CSV, text) goes only to your clipboard or your Downloads folder.
Granted at install (Chrome shows no warning for any of them):
activeTab, scripting: run the grab on the page you are on, at the moment you ask for it (the toolbar button, a shortcut or a right-click item).contextMenus: adds "Copy page / selection / link / this table" to the right-click menu.storage: remembers your settings (synced by your browser to your own account), the panel's position, the catalog number of your last copy, and a counter for a one-time review request.Asked for only when you turn a feature on, and removable at any time:
http://*/* and https://*/*: the table tag on every site. Turning the tag off gives it back. Tabs → one AI context asks for the sites of the tabs you tick, and only those.tabs: the titles and addresses of your open tabs, for the Tabs list. Asked the first time you open Tabs.clipboardWrite: lets the copy shortcut put the result on your clipboard without a click on the page. Without it the shortcut shows a Copy button. Scoopdown never reads your clipboard.Scoopdown sends nothing to the developer or anyone else. Getting a transcript opens the site's own transcript panel (YouTube) or loads the video's own caption file (other sites); your browser fetches those from that site exactly as it would if you turned captions on yourself.
